ANA not yet in low-cost alliance but subsidiary Vanilla does | Bangkok Post: business

ANA Holdings Inc clarified on Monday that its flagship full-service carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) has not become a member of the world's largest low-cost carrier (LCC) alliance known as Value Alliance. However, it confirmed that its budget airline subsidiary Vanilla Air has retained a membership of Value Alliance (VA) which it helped founded in May this year along with seven other airline groups. An ANA spokesman provided the clarification following ANA Holdings’ acquisition a 15% stake in Air Black Box Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (ABBAP). Insiders who are familiar with ABBAP operations said the full-service ANA does not want to exploit the benefits offered by VA now because they would complicate its standing membership with Star Alliance. Star Alliance is one of the world's largest global full-service airline alliances.
